All recipesCopy linkPrintSaveVegetables & SidesKishkaTraditional Jewish stuffing made with vegetables and matzo meal.Work in progressjewishkishkastuffingBatch size½×1×2×3×Ingredients0 of 9 gatheredClear all1 cup of schmaltz or olive oil or a combo½–1 cup of grebenes (optional)2 carrots2 celery stalks2 onions2 cloves of garlic½ tsp cayenne3 cups of flour (adjust for consistency)20 Ritz crackersInstructions1Blend everything in a food processor until fully pureed.2Refrigerate the mixture to firm it up.3Lightly coat half of a 16" sheet of parchment paper with olive oil.4Add enough mixture to make a 1 1/2" diameter log 12" long. You should get 2 1/2 to 3 logs.5Wrap each parchment covered log in 2 sheets of aluminum foil.6Bake in a 400°F oven for 40 minutes.7Remove from the oven and remove the foil and parchment paper. Save the foil for rewrapping.8The bottom of the roll will be slightly browned. Turn brown side up and return to the oven for 15 minutes more.9Wrap each log in saved foil for storage in freezer or fridge.Reset this recipe
